Champagne D'Argent means "silver rabbit from Champage" in French. They came from the Champagne region of France. Champagnes are a larger meat type rabbit. Their beautiful silver color makes them popular with hobbiests as well. The breed tends to be very friendly, especially the bucks. Babies are born black, and begin to "silver out" around 8 weeks of age. All of my Champagnes are out of Wayne Cleer's lines. Champagnes grow to about 9.5-12 pounds.
